There are certain ways that Netica can transform a net model which modifies its representation without modifying its meaning. Netica can remove nodes and reverse the direction of links in such a way that any inference done with the resulting net yields precisely the same results as the original net (except of course findings can’t be entered for removed nodes, and their resulting beliefs are unavailable).
Some reasons to do these transforms are to: simplify the
net, apply the net to more specific problems, gain understanding of the
net or of the real world relations, or put the net in a form for easier
probability or function assessment.
