A changed-indicator (sometimes known as a "dirty indicator") is a * or + after the title of the net in the net window's title bar, and means that the net currently displayed has been changed from the version saved to file. * means a meaningful (i.e. "semantic") change, while + means just a change to the visual display. Entering findings will not trigger the changed-indicator, unless they are for a constant node. The changed-indicator properly responds to undo and redo. more info
A table dialog can also have a * changed-indicator. Or it can have a (*) indicator, which means that something else has changed the target, which makes it different from the version in the dialog box. More Info
